She’s everything he wants….

Cold. Heartless. Deadly. Whispers of his name alone bring fear to fae and mortals alike. The Prince. There is nothing in the mortal world more dangerous than him. Haunted by a past he couldn’t control, all Caden desires is revenge against those who’d wronged him, trapping him in never-ending nightmare. And there is one person he knows can help him.

She’s everything he can’t have…

Raised within the Order, Brighton Jussier knows just how dangerous the Prince is, reformed or not. She’d seen firsthand what atrocities he could be capable of. The last thing she wants to do is help him, but he leaves her little choice. Forced to work alongside him, she begins to see the man under the bitter ice. Yearning for him feels like the definition of insanity, but there’s no denying the heat in his touch and the wicked promise is his stare.

She’s everything he’ll take….

But there’s someone out there who wants to return the Prince to his former self. A walking, breathing nightmare that is hell bent on destroying the world and everyone close to him. The last thing either of them needs is a distraction, but with the attraction growing between them each now, the one thing he wants more than anything may be the one thing that will be his undoing.

She’s everything he’d die for….

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.** (synopsis from Goodreads)

Wow. Just wow. I don't even know where to start. It's a rare thing when I am completely speechless. This is one of those rare times.

Let me just start by saying I am usually not the biggest fan of novellas. If it's a series I love (like A Wicked Saga), then I'll read them, and I do enjoy them at times, but I've never gotten really invested in one. But, oh, I was invested in this one.

Brighton is awesome. She may not be the most badass person in the Order, but she's still plenty badass. After a traumatic event, she's struggling with figuring out who she is, and this made her really relatable to me. I think a lot of people can relate to that in some way. And the start of the story made me immediately invested in her. I just wanted her to be okay. I needed it.

When I found out the novella would be about Brighton and Caden (also known as the Prince), I was surprised. I also wasn't sure I could actually like Caden after what happened in the previous books. It didn't take long for Armentrout to make me fall head over heels in love. Of course, I should never have doubted her. But I didn't think he'd be that… swoon-worthy. And hot. And did I mention swoon-worthy?

The romance was intense. That's the best word I can find to describe it. The attraction between Brighton and Caden is obvious. And the air between them is electric, all the time. It doesn't matter what's going on, you can seriously feel the tension between them. It had my heart racing and my breathing uneven for the entire story. I'm still struggling to breathe.

One of the reasons I usually don't like novellas is that they don't have a great plot. This one did. It was jam-packed with action. It was full of tension, romantic and otherwise. It was incredibly well-paced. It kept me wanting more and more, and when it was over, I kept trying to find more, somewhere. It couldn't be over. I'm not even going to talk about the ending.

I absolutely loved The Prince. It was many times better than I'd expected, and a great continuation of Brave. I loved getting to know Brighton and Caden better, the romance was really intense and the plot was incredible. You all definitely need to read this ASAP.
