After a chance encounter, the two develop an unlikely friendship that enables them to begin facing their inner demons.

But both Len and Sage are keeping secrets that, left hidden, could cost them everything, maybe even their lives.

I really liked this one. The reason I picked it up in the first place was because it has mental health representation and focuses on friendship rather than a romantic relationship. Those are also the reasons why I loved this book.

I really liked both the main characters. They were relatable and likeable, and it was easy to care about them. I really just wanted both of them to be okay. And the friendship between the two of them was amazing. I really want more YA books to portray healthy female friendships, and this book does exactly that. I loved it.

As some of you may know, mental health is a subject that is very close to my heart, and as a teaching student, I have also seen how many kids are struggling with mental health issues. Therefore, it always makes me happy to see mental health portrayed realistically in books. The way Shalaway Carpenter does it is relatable and heartbreaking.

The plot had some issues. It was a bit slow, almost boring, at times, but for me, that was okay. Some books are intense because of the sheer amount of things that happen. Other books are intense because of the emotions it wakes in the reader. This book is the second kind. So it didn't need to be fast-paced or very exciting.

The Edge of Anything is a beautiful and yet heartbreaking story about friendship and hope in the face of loss.
