Thursday Quotables: Nowhere but Here (Thunder Road #1) by Katie McGarry

Welcome to Thursday Quotables! This weekly feature is the place to highlight a great quote, line, or passage discovered during your reading each week.  Whether it’s something funny, startling, gut-wrenching, or just really beautifully written, Thursday Quotables is where my favorite lines of the week will be, and you’re invited to join in!
This week, I have two quotes that I really love from a book I've read before but reread now, namely Nowhere but Here. I really love this book a lot, and the other books in the series, and all her other books. McGarry always has some kind of message in her books, which is what makes them so awesome. There are also always great quotes that I think teach you something about life, and I love quotes like that. These two are no exception.

Review: The Alchemists of Loom (Loom Saga #1) by Elise Kova

I need a moment to process this. This book was… everything! It was very different from Air Awakens, but I loved it just as much. The writing was amazing, the plot was interesting, the world-building was magical, and the characters were relatable. I am absolutely in love with this book!
Title: The Alchemists of Loom
Author: Elise Kova
My rating: 5 hearts
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy, Steampunk
Pub. date: January 10th 2017
Publisher: Keymaster Press
Synopsis: Her vengeance. His vision.

Ari lost everything she once loved when the Five Guilds’ resistance fell to the Dragon King. Now, she uses her unparalleled gift for clockwork machinery in tandem with notoriously unscrupulous morals to contribute to a thriving underground organ market. There isn’t a place on Loom that is secure from the engineer turned thief, and her magical talents are sold to the highest bidder as long as the job defies their Dragon oppressors.

Cvareh would do anything to see his sister usurp the Dragon King and sit on the throne. His family’s house has endured the shame of being the lowest rung in the Dragons’ society for far too long. The Alchemist Guild, down on Loom, may just hold the key to putting his kin in power, if Cvareh can get to them before the Dragon King’s assassins.

When Ari stumbles upon a wounded Cvareh, she sees an opportunity to slaughter an enemy and make a profit off his corpse. But the Dragon sees an opportunity to navigate Loom with the best person to get him where he wants to go.

He offers her the one thing Ari can’t refuse: A wish of her greatest desire, if she brings him to the Alchemists of Loom. (synopsis from Goodreads)

January TBR

Hi everyone! *waves hand* Before I start, I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. I spent some time with my family, and it was really needed. I feel so much better and more ready for 2017 now, and I'm excited for all the awesome releases this year! So, last year, I had a lot going on and therefore didn't have time to blog as much as I'd have liked, but I'm starting fresh this year. I'm going to blog more, and I'm going to try to start doing TBRs for each month, starting now. Now, I'm really bad at planning what to read, I'm one of those people who just read whatever I feel like whenever I feel like it. Because of this, this may not work at all. I have a lot going on in my life, and I don't really like forcing myself to read a book I don't feel like reading right now. But I'll try, and we'll see where this ends up.

Now, we're already a ways through January, but I'll do this anyway. So, let's get started!

My Dream Convention

When I found this, I just thought why not? I've been looking for something new to post about, and this seemed fun, so here is my dream convention. I’d like to mention, before I start, that I’ve never been to any convention. Where I live, book conventions just don’t happen, so I haven’t been able to attend one yet.

So, I decided to do a New Adult convention, because it’s still a fairly new genre, and, in my opinion, just as good as Young Adult.
