Blog Tour: Drink Your Way Through Heart of Thorns: Tea Edition

I'm so excited to share the blog tour for Heart of Thorns by Bree Barton, a new Young Adult Fantasy, being released on July 31st 2018. It's the first in a series, published by Katherine Tegen Books. It's a feministic read, with a strong main character and magic that will certainly sweep you away. The tour is hosted by Fantastic Flying Book Club, and you can see the rest of the schedule here. Keep reading for a giveaway, more info on the books, and my tea recommendations for the book!

Synopsis:
In the ancient river kingdom, touch is a battlefield, bodies the instruments of war. Seventeen-year-old Mia Rose has pledged her life to hunting Gwyrach: women who can manipulate flesh, bones, breath, and blood.

Not women. Demons. The same demons who killed her mother without a single scratch.

But when Mia's father suddenly announces her marriage to the prince, she is forced to trade in her knives and trousers for a sumptuous silk gown. Only after the wedding goes disastrously wrong does she discover she has dark, forbidden magic—the very magic she has sworn to destroy.

Drink Your Way Through Heart of Thorns: Tea Edition
Now for the fun part! As an avid reader, and avid tea drinker, I find that there is nothing better than curling up with a good book and a good cup of tea. Even better if the tea works well with the book. Therefore, I've picked out a few teas that are perfect to drink while reading Heart of Thorns. I've picked two teas to represent the two main characters, and then one to represent the whole book. This way, you'll know exactly what to drink while hiding inside with your book.

Mia Rose
Tea: Lemon & Ginger (Twinings)
Mia is a badass character who can take care of herself. She may look like a sweet girl, but she's sassy and feisty. She's not someone you want as an enemy, let me tell you that. But she also has a big heart, and she's very protective of those she loves. I picked the Lemon & Ginger tea from Twinings to represent Mia, because like Mia, it's warm from the ginger, but it's also zesty from the lemon, just like Mia.

Prince Quin
Tea: Buttermint (Twinings)
Quin is a bit of a mysterious character. You can tell that underneath that cold exterior, there's much more, but you're not entirely sure what it is. In order to keep the mystery living, I'm not going to go into details about his character. For Quin, I wanted a tea that was just as mysterious, so Betterment felt like a great choice. It has a strong taste of peppermint, but there's also a hint of vanilla and toffee that surprises you.

Heart of Thorns
Tea: Spicy Chocolate (Kusmi Tea)
Heart of Thorns is a very fresh, unique book. It's sweet, but also fierce and feministic, with lots of sass and just general fierceness. I'll admit, I had a hard time finding the perfect tea to represent the book, but the Spicy Chocolate tea from Kusmi Tea is definitely it. With the sweetness from the chocolate mixed with spices, it's a different tea, no less tasty, and it will definitely add to the mood if you drink it while reading.
